Heybrook Lookout is a short and moderately steep hike through a fern and moss covered forest to a fun, staircase-ridden lookout with great views of the nearby mountains. If you are introducing someone to hiking, limited on time, or trying to add on another hike or activity in the area, this is the hike for you.

Perched on a bluff overlooking majestic Puget Sound is the unique acreage of Ebey’s Landing. In addition to the Bluff Trail, visitors can experience the seaport town of Coupeville, observe working farms, and get their fill of wildlife viewing, all in a tiny National Park on Whidbey Island.

Amazing easy hike. Seeing the PNW on this trail will give you everything you need. Lush greenery and beautiful waterways. The actual waterfall is breathtaking. A lot of gusts and water droplets everywhere. Absolutely gorgeous. The beginning of the trial is relatively flat but eventually it goes into well maintained switchbacks. The switchbacks are nothing to fear, there are maybe 2 or 3 of them.

If you are traveling along the Strait of Juan de Fuca Highway on the Olympic Peninsula, a short detour to Tongue Point is a must. This beautiful point lies within the Salt Creek Recreation Area and just north of the Salt Creek Recreation Area Campground, forming the eastern edge of Crescent Bay. From the campground, east and west staircases lead down to the rocky shoreline; the westernmost staircase leads directly out to Tongue Point, and the east staircase leads by an old bunker that remains from the point’s days as a World War II military camp.

Artist Point is the top competitor for best viewpoint in the state. The beautifully shaped Mount Shuksan is the star of the area, with a gorgeous summit pyramid and several impressive glaciers. This relatively easy snowshoe is an excellent winter destination with a virtual guarantee of good snow coverage.

Oyster Dome is a rocky promontory on the western slope of Blanchard Mountain, the grandest member of the Chuckanut Mountain range, an extension of the Cascades that rises directly from the ocean. The sheer cliffs of Oyster Dome offer year-round access to commanding views of the San Juans, Skagit River flats, Olympic Mountains, and Samish Bay.
